Testimonials
I wanted to thank you all for the wonderful care and compassion I have received from you all. It is the greatest comfort to have faith and trust in the doctors and staff, especially when things don’t go the way I planned! - Anna B |

A single-rod progestin implant,
Implanon®, has been approved for birth control use in the US and elsewhere. A healthcare provider inserts it under the skin in the upper inner arm. It is effective for up to three years, and can be removed sooner if pregnancy is desired. Insertion and removal can be done in an office or clinic. Fertility returns rapidly after removal of the rod.Side Effects:
Irregular bleeding is the most bothersome side effect. Expect your menstrual periods to be irregular and unpredictable throughout the time you are Implanon. Some of the problems related to insertion are pain, irritation, swelling, or bruising of insertion site. This should only last a day or two and shouldn't interfere with your usual activities.
Please note that your bleeding can be extremely irregular after Implanon insertion. This could include constant bleeding, intermediate spotting, absence of menses (no periods) or anything in between. The irregularity of bleeding is expected for 3-6 months after insertion, but could remain throughout the Implanon use.
Please contact Crown Mountain Womens Health if you think you may be pregnant or if you are having heavy bleeding that is saturating one pad every hour.
