Testimonials

This is a long overdue thank you note to say huge thanks for taking care of us for the birth of our first child! We are truly grateful for your support, help, and wisdom in helping us achieve our goals for Jasper's birth. Thanks also for your patience and kindness in always answering my list of questions! We think you all are incredible doctors, and we had an excellent experience at Chestatee Regional Hospital (CRH). Jasper’s birth went better than we had hoped. Thanks for working with us through it all. We certainly plan to go back to CRH…one day! - Joni S

Amy L Helton, RN, CNM

Amy grew up in Clayton, Georgia. She decided at a very young age that she wanted to become a nurse so she “could help people.” Amy attended Brenau University in Gainesville for her Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN). She then worked as an RN in labor and delivery and in an OB/GYN office for 8 years. During that time, she taught prepared childbirth and breastfeeding classes as well as developed and taught a “What to Expect” class for newly pregnant/ first time parents.

After spending time with women during their pregnancies and during labor and delivery, Amy decided that she wanted to be more involved in the care of women of all ages and with various healthcare needs. She made the decision to further her education and become a midwife. She graduated with honors from Emory University in Atlanta with a Masters degree in Nursing (MSN) in December 2005. She completed her national exam, obtained her Advanced Practice Nurse-CNM license, and began the career she loves in January 2006.
